MPS wants to accelerate housing project for poor locals in three mountainous provinces

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired a video meeting connecting the Ministry of Public Security (MPS)in Hanoi with the provincial police departments and local authorities of Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Son La to discuss approaches to speed up the project on building and repairing houses for poor families and semi-boarding dormitories for local students.

Mr. Le Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee,Mr. Tong Thanh Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Son La ProvincialPeople's Committee,and leaders of the three provincial police departments attended the meeting.

The meaningful and humane housing project was launched by the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS in coordination with the Provincial Party Committees and People's Committees of Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Son La provinces.

Up to now, in Nam Po district (Dien Bien province), 434 houses have been completed while other 208 are under construction. In Muong Te district (Lai Chau province), 125 houses have been built and 332 houses are under construction. In Van Ho district (Son La province), 587 houses have been completed while 280 are being constructed.

At the meeting, representatives of the local authorities reviewed the project implementation over the past time and discussed solutions to overcome some difficulties in building the houses in the time to come.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang thanked the local authorities for their coordination and support for the MPS in implementing the housing project.

The Deputy Minister asked the police forces of Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Son La provinces to continue playing their leading role in carrying out the project while mobilizing relevant units and contractors to speed up the housing project. They should also give advice to the local authorities on approaches to complete the project as scheduled.
