Minister To Lam answers questions of NA deputies
PSNews - General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, answered various questions related to national security and social order and safety at the National Assembly’s question-and-answer (Q&A) session on June 4.

All major issues raised by 47 deputies as well as queries voiced by other 11 deputies were explained in a direct and precise manner by Minister To Lam. Minister To Lam also frankly acknowledged responsibility for shortcomings, and gave practical solutions.
Before the Q&A session, Minister To Lam briefed the deputies on various problems of their concern, including prevention and fight against drug-related crime, loan-sharking and organized criminal gangs, as well as the work of ensuring traffic safety and order and handling traffic violations, particularly drink-driving and drug-driving.
During the Q&A session, citing major drug trafficking cases with large amounts of drugs recently detected by relevant forces, as well as public concerns over the current complicated drug-trafficking and drug-abuse situation, deputies asked about the responsibility and approaches of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to prevent and fight drug-related crimes.
Minister To Lam emphasized that the Party and State always attach importance to drug prevention and fight. He also said that the police force had foreseen the complexity to drug crime in the coming time, and on that basis, implemented various comprehensive measures to prevent and fight the crime, and that the number of recently investigated drug-related cases demonstrated the efforts and effective operation of the police in the fight against drug-related crime.
Minister To Lam also stressed that the MPS has strictly punished police officers who had signs of moral degradation, connections with criminals, and even took bribe from criminals to neglect their duties. Minister To Lam pointed out the fact that the MPS has recently handled all violations seriously, regardless of the positions and ranks of the wrongdoers, in an effort to restore the trust of all Party members and people in its state management.
Concluding the session, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan highly appreciated the responses of Minister To Lam to the questions, saying that the Minister of Public Security grasped pressing issues of public concern thoroughly and put forward good solutions to the problems.
