Minister To Lam pays a working visit to Laos

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security led a delegation to pay a working visit to Laos on January 27, at the invitation of Lieutenant General Somkeo Silavong, Security Minister of Laos. 

At the reception, Lieutenant General Somkeo Silavong welcomed and highly appreciated the working visit of Minister To Lam and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation while expressing delight at the achievements and development of the relation between Laos and Vietnam in general and the cooperation between the Ministry of Security of Laos and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular.

Minister Somkeo Silavong also stated that the working visit of Minister To Lam played an important role in the context that the two countries had just celebrated the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties (September 5) and 40 years of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

He hoped that the cooperation between the two ministries will continuously reach many positive outcomes, contributing to maintaining the stability, security, social order of Vietnam and Laos.

For his part, Minister To Lam thanked Lieutenant General Somkeo Silavong and leaders of the Ministry of Security of Laos for the warm and meaningful welcome.

Minister To Lam affirmed that under the direction of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Laos will achieve outstanding results in socio-economic development, helping Laos enhance its positive in international forums and conference.

After the reception, the two sides signed a cooperation plan for 2018, under which the two sides will maintain high-level meetings between leaders of the two ministries, partner with each other to fight hostile forces who aim to undermine the bilateral friendship, implement international agreements and treaties to which both are members, and consult and support each other at regional and international forums on crime combat.
