Minister To Lam receives international guests

PSNews-Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security received Mr. Vladimir Anatolievich Goshin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam and Mr. Ke Kim Yan, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia.

Speaking at the meeting with the Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam, Minister Lam hoped that, during his term of office, he will continuously make contributions to development of the fine friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus in general as well as between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of Belarus in particular.

In recent years, the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the law enforcement agencies of Belarus has enjoyed positive and in-depth developments in all areas and continues growing.

Minister Lam wished to further promote the traditional friendship between the two countries in various spheres, including crime prevention and information sharing, exchange of experiences and mutual support at international and regional forums on crime prevention.

The Belarusian Ambassador thanked Minister Lam for the kind reception and said that he would try his best to contribute to deepening the relationship between the two countries in general, as well as between cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Belarusian law enforcement agencies in particular.

On the same day, Minister Lam received Mr. Ke Kim Yan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Cambodian National Committee for Drugs and Drug Abuse.

Minister To Lam proposed the two sides continue to share information and experience; increase capacity building training courses for two sides’ officers involved in drug prevention and control; coordinate with each other at multilateral cooperation forums and in terms of drug prevention; and exchange information and approaches related to the detoxification of drug addicts.

Minister Lam and Mr. Ke Kim Yan agreed to step up coordination between the two countries as well as regularly exchange information and coordinate closely in investigating, detecting and cracking down on drug trafficking rings.
