Mobile Police help people in post-flooding period

PSNews-Officers and soldiers of Battalion 2, the Southern Central Regiment of Mobile Police, under the Command of Mobile Police were deployed to help local people overcome difficulties in the post flooding period.

A week after the floods, farmers in Vinh Ngoc commune, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) are still facing various difficulties in production as the 90- hectares of field of Xuan Lac were flooded and damaged as the local canal and ditch system for irrigation was filled up with and stuck by mud and sand.

Various police officers helped local people soon start their crop

In order to assist local farmers in overcoming their difficulties, soldiers and officers of Battalion 2 under the Southern Central Mobile Police Regiment were deployed during the last days of 2016.

“Heavy rains in many consecutive days resulted in erosion of 1,000m canals,” said Pham Tran Nghi, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Ngoc People’s Committee, pointing at ruined fields, “The heavy rains and floods prevented farmers from starting their winter-spring crops as usual. The police force has helped us dredge over 100m3 of soil. We are grateful to them for their help.”

Senior Lieutenant Vu Huy Hoang, head of the battalion said: "Although the battalion was during its martial arts training, but we’re willing to deploy 80 officers to help local farmers overcome difficulties, dredging various canals to soon start their crop.”

Local people also expressed their delight and gratitude to the police force for their help.
