“Voluntary Saturday” helps people overcome consequences of floods

PSNews-The Youth Union chapter of the Provincial Police Force of Binh Dinh in cooperation with the Mobile Police Regiment - E23 (under the MPS) and district-level police forces organized a “Voluntary Saturday” to help local people in the districts of Tay Son, Hoai Nhon, Phu My and An Nhon town overcome damages caused by the recent floods.

300 members of Youth Union organizations participated in the voluntary program.

Voluntary teams helped citizens in M6 village clear, dredge and widen the flows of nearly 6 km of irrigation canals, which had been stuck as a result of floods.

In Dong An village (My Chanh commune, Phu My district), soldiers also managed to dredge and remove tons of silted sand from fields, and reinforce rural paths, which had been eroded during the floods, with sandbags, helping local people and students travel safely and comfortably.

Meanwhile, in the two villages of Dinh Binh and Lai Duc 3 (Hoai Duc commune, Hoai Nhon district) and Hoa My village (Nhon Phuc commune, An Nhon town) members of volunteer teams dredged and reinforced more than 1km of canal, which had been serious eroded, and removed a large amounts of sandy alluvial from fields.

The Youth Union chapter under the Binh Dinh Provincial Police Department handed over donated money and various items to the locals badly-affected by the floods.
