PSNews-The Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee organized a conference to sum up the movement “All people protecting security” 2016, and announce action plans for 2017, on February 24.

The event saw attendance of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security and various armed units of Da Nang as well as outstanding organizational and individual examples.

Recently, Da Nang gained various achievements in the movement. Dissemination of information about the movment was promoted in creative forms and with interesting activities, attracting over 760,000 people.

Thanks to the successful dissemination activities, people provided information about over 2,000 security and order offences for relevant agencies, and supported competent forces in investigating and discovering hundreds of criminal cases.. Particularly, local people directly arrested 76 criminal suspects and handed them to the police offices.

Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son highly appreciated the cooperation and contribution of Da Nang people in preventing and suppressing crimes. He noted that involved forces, including the Da Nang Municipal Police, should proactively provide advice to the city leadership on issues related to maintaining security and order in the city, contributing to improving effectiveness of the movement ”All people protecting security.”

Da Nang will host various important events in 2017, particularly the APEC 2017 and the International Fireworks Festival, while criminal activities remain complex and are likely to rise in terms of both numbers and seriousness. This requires involved forces and people to join hands in maintaining security and order.

Gen. Son presented the “Excellent Emulation Flag” of the MPS to 3 teams and certificates of merit to 9 teams with outstanding achievements and contributions to the movement. Other teams and individuals were also praised and awarded by the Municipal People’s Committee at the conference.
