People’s Police Academy opens 2018-2019 academic year

PSNews - The People’s Police Academy on October 11 held a ceremony to open its 2018-2019 academic year with the attendance of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Delivering the opening speech, Senior Colonel Tran Minh Huong, Director of the People’s Police Academy welcomed and congratulated the newly-enrolled students. He also briefed delegates on the university’s achievements in the last academic year.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the university made a major step forward in renovating teaching methods as its lecturers started to use English in teaching some majors.

For its achievements, the Academy was presented with noble titles and merits by the Party, the State, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security, including the title Hero of People's Armed Forces for the second time.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam praised the efforts of the teachers, officers and students of the People’s Police Academy as well as their outstanding achievements in education and training in recent years.

He expressed his agreement with the orientations and missions, set out for 2018-2019 academic year of the school, and urged all staff and students to continue to innovate and improve the quality of education and training in order to promote its position as a major center for training and research in the Public Security Forces and in the country.

He also asked the academy to promote scientific research in the directions of strengthening connectivity and cooperation in research and application of results of scientific research with units, localities and branches inside and outside the Public Security Forces; to incorporate practical reviews and theoretical research to contribute to the improvement of the police professional theoretical system and to compile new high-quality materials for education and training.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security also required the institution to attach importance to expanding cooperation in personnel training with ASEAN countries, as well as international cooperation with advanced countries around the world to take advantage of their knowledge and technology in line with the foreign policy of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.
