Luong Thi Linh, a 10-grade student in Tinh Gia High School on March 10 involved in a traffic accident, was seriously injured. The young girl-student was then taken to emergency at Hop Luc General Hospital.
According to Luong Dinh Hoang, Linh’s father, the doctors said that his child needed a major surgery immediately. However, the hospital lacked type B blood, Linh's blood type. Meanwhile, all members of Linh’s family do not have that blood type.
Hearing of the difficult state, Major Nguyen Viet Hung of the Quang Xuong District Police Division rushed to the hospital and voluntarily donated his rare B-type blood to save Linh.
“When I was informed that there was a patient named Linh in need of B-type blood. I just thought that I have to save her”, Major Hung said to the PSNews.
Major Hung’s deed was then praised by Linh’s family and the doctors at Hop Luc General Hospital.
