As assigned by the Minister of Public Security, the Police Department for Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory has requested the directorates of all detention facilities to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As a result, visits to prisoners were restricted from February 2020 and then completely stopped from March 2020.

Detention facilities also strictly implemented regulations on prevention and control of COVID-19, while sprayed disinfectants to sterilize working and detention areas.

The units held training courses to equip their staff as well as prisoners with knowledge and skills to prevent COVID-19.

All officers and soldiers at the detention centers and prisons are supposed to be ready for duty around the clock.
