Public Security Department for Information and Communications meets leaders of Central press, publishing and film agencies

PSNews – The Department of Department for Information and Communications under the Ministry of Public Security organized a meeting with leaders of Central press, publishing and film agencies on September 14.

The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, acting Minister of Information and Communications and Vice Head of the Central Commission for Information and Education; Mr. Lam Khiet Tuong, Vice Director of Vietnam Television; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Major General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Public Security Department for Information and Communications.

The Department for Information and Communications of Public Security has recently been formed mainly by the Public Security Newspaper, the Center for Radio, Television and Film, and the Publishing House of the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung and Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh applauded the efforts of the Department in the past time after the change of its structural organization.

They also highlighted opportunities and challenges for the press, media and publishing sector amid the boom and burst of information, particularly with the appearance of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Deputy Minister Thanh also urged the Department to fully understand the important role of the press and media, publishing and film sector.

He also asked the Department to well perform its management function and advisory role, reflect activities of the public security forces in press, radio, television and film works, meeting the increasing demands of the audience while serving as a sharp tool in the ideological and cultural front, contributing to ensuring national security and order, and strengthening national construction and defence.
