Public Security Newspaper raises fund for victims in flash flood hit areas
PSNews – The Public Security Newspaper raised fund on August 9 to support people in flash floods hit areas of Northern mountainous provinces.
Recently, Northern mountainous provinces, especially Yen Bai, Son La, Lai Chau and Dien Bien, faced many difficulties as flash floods caused huge losses of human and property.
To share difficulties and losses with those localities, on August 9, the Party Committee of the Public Security Newspaper organized a fundraising event at both the headquarter in Hanoi and the representative office in Ho Chi Minh City to support disaster victims in the Northern mountainous provinces.
Speaking at the raising fund ceremony, Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor in Chief of the Public Security Newspaper stated that: “In the spirit of "The good leaves protect the worn-out leaves", all officers, soldiers, reporters of the Public Security Newspaper will donate at least the pay for one working day to victims in flash flood-hit areas.”
The organizing board received over VND 101 million in the first day. Earlier, the Public Security Newspaper sent many charitable missions to flash flood stricken areas to present gifts to people there.
