Rescue training course for local police units kicks off

PSNews – The General Department of Logistics and Techniques opened a rescue training course for local police units on November 28th, aiming to improve their skills of natural disaster prevention and search and rescue. 

In a one–week long training course, lecturers will provide knowledge and skills of search and rescue, and techniques in using marine vehicles including: how to operate, maintain and repair marine vehicles of public security forces.

In addition, trainees will practice rescue skills and other activities on the Red River.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Pham Quang Cu, Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics and Techniques, Deputy Head of the  Steering Committee for Climate Change Adaptation, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security affirmed that, along with the People's Army, the Public Security Forces play a core role in natural disaster prevention and search and rescue. 

Therefore, the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Public Security Ministry have paid much attention to directing the Public Security Forces to actively participate in such tasks over the past years.

The Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Public Security Ministry invested a large number of facilities, modern equipment as well as open training courses on these issues.

He also instructed trainees to heighten their responsibility and follow regulations during the training course. He stressed, all members should keep absolute safety for humans, vehicles, equipment, and accomplish the requirements of the course.
