Security issues arise amid 4.0 industrial revolution

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Minister of Public Security, directly delivered a lecture on application of systems thinking in management and leadership amid changing conditions and the 4.0 industrial revolution for leaders, key officials of the G.D 4.
Participants in the teleconference were given an overview of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and application of systematic thinking in management and leadership in response to changes.
Regarding the 4th Industrial Revolution, Vice Minister Nguyen Van Thanh outlined 15 major areas, including the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, energy, communications, smart applications, smart traffic and transportation and smart city.
Vice Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also referred to “The Impact of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 - Emerging Non-Traditional Security Issues”, involving four issues and ten threats that could undermine social stability beyond the border of a country, and therefore require close cooperation and joint efforts of nations. He also pointed out advantages and disadvantages of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution for nations, including Vietnam, and gave specific examples of cyber security, cybercrime and transnational crime.
Introducing the science of systems thinking, Vice Minister Nguyen Van Thanh discussed the position of systems thinking, the culmination of awareness, in the development of the nation. In a modern society, strategic thinking is an objective and essential requirement for leaders and managers.
Lieutenant General Le Van Minh, Director of the G.D 4, said that amid security and political changes in the world and development of the modern scientific and technological revolution, the Public Security Forces are determined to promote development of science and technology, enhance national defense and security capabilities to meet the requirements to modernize the armed forces. He also stressed that research and application of scientific and technological achievements, especially in spearheaded fields for national defense and security, play a very important role.
