PSNews – The Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Department held a meeting on December 25 to review the local police’s performance of tasks in 2020 and roll out new plans for 2021.

Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Party Central Committee’s member, attended the event. The conference also saw leaders of Thai Nguyen province and units under the Ministry of Public Security.

Reports delivered at the event read that the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police in 2020 seriously implemented directions and guidance of the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring security and order, and advised local Party committees and authorities on approaches to fight and prevent crimes in localities of the province. The unit also took a leading role in the fight against COVID-19 in the province.

During the year, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police made a big success in the fight against crimes, law violations; as a result, the number of criminal cases reduced nearly 11 percent of crimes. 863 cases related to drug crimes were detected and investigated with some 1000 suspects.  Meanwhile, the State management of security and order was strengthened.

The police force in Thai Nguyen province also took effective measures to promote the “All people protecting National security”.  The Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Department has completed the deployment of professional police officers to all communes and townships in the province to ensure security and order at the grassroots level.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To acknowledged and appreciated the achievements gained by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police in 2020.

He asked the provincial police to effectively advise local Party committees and authorities at all levels on policies related to ensuring security and order.

According to the Deputy Minister, in the coming time, the local police force should continue focus on Party work and force building. He urged the local police force to enhance the fight against crimes of all kinds, avoiding being put at a disadvantage.

He also asked the unit to craft concrete plans to ensure security and order during the upcoming 13th National Party Congress and other important political events taking place in the province.
