Thanh Hoa police control people’s entry and exit to prevent COVID-19 epidemic

The move was announced following directions of the Minister of Public Security and instructions of the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on quarantine of the whole province.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department’s sub-units should only work with citizens at their offices to solve necessary and urgent issues while regularly cleaning and disinfecting meeting, reception rooms and requesting people to strictly follow medical safety regulations.
If one shows signs of COVID-19 infection, the local police shouldpromptly notify medical units to quarantine themand take measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the police unit.
The police forces should promptly detect and strictly handle cases of spreading false information about the epidemic situation while actively fighting against crimes, especially theft, smuggling and production of fake medical stuffs, and other crimes related to COVID-19 prevention and control.
The police of districts, towns and cities should review citizens returning from foreign countries from March 8 without being quarantined, and make a list of people directly contacting COVID-19 patients in order to promptly take appropriate quarantine measures.
District-level police stations in border areas should work closely with the local Military and Border Guard Commands to maintain the closure of border gates alongthe Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan (Laos)borderline as well as strictly control entry into Vietnam through the Na Meo International Border Gate and other cross-border trails.
Particularly, from April 1 to 15, the provincial police runs four checkpoints at Doc Xay (Bim Son town), KheNuoc Lanh (Tinh Gia district), Thach Quang (Thach Thanh district), Bai Tranh (Nhu Xuan district) in order to control around the clock people and vehicles entering and leaving the province, following the Prime Minister's Directive 16, and stop people from epidemic-hit areas from travelling to Thanh Hoa province, except for special cases.
