The Department of Traffic Police on April 29 ordered all sub-units to carry out measures to ensure traffic order and safety while continuing the fight against COVID-19 during the National Liberation and May Day.

Accordingly, the traffic police units across the country are asked to step up patrols and checks on key traffic routes, and strictly handle violations of traffic safety, especially in highways, crossroads, railways, localities with tourist attractions and festivals. They should also focus on checking, detecting and handling violations of alcohol and drug concentration regulations, speed limit, and traffic signals that directly result in traffic accidents and traffic jams.

The Department also asked all traffic police units to deploy forces and means to busy traffic routes to ensure traffic order and safety, actively coordinate with other traffic police units from neighboring localities to prevent traffic jams, particularly on national highways or gateways to big cities.

Further, the traffic police should raise people’s awareness of measures to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic. The police officers must set examples in the fight against COVID-19 and strictly follow guidelines of the health sector.

They are also asked to timely detect and fight crimes on roads, railroad, and waterways, including criminal, economic, drug-related and environmental crimes, to ensure security and order for people to enjoy the anniversaries.
