PSNews – The Traffic Police Office under the Da Nang Municipal Police started to run its official Facebook page from December to receive information on traffic accidents, congestions and other related issues across the city.

According to Senior Colonel Le Ngoc, head of the Traffic Police Office, the Facebook page is named “Cảnh sát giao thông CATP Đà Nẵng” (or Da Nang Municipal Traffic Police) on March 1, in an effort to popularize traffic laws and provide traffic information to Facebookers.

Thanks to this page, local people can interact with traffic police by posting updates on the traffic situation in their area, photos and videos capturing violations of traffic laws or accidents.

After months running the page, the Directorate of the Da Nang Municipal Police asked the office to expand the Facebook page to receive more information about traffic accidents, traffic jams and other issues from citizens.

Thanks to this page, local people can interact with traffic police by posting updates on the traffic situation in their area, photos and videos capturing violations of traffic laws or accidents, and reporting on wrongdoings of any officers or breakdowns of the city’s traffic system.

A group by 7 traffic officers, led by a Deputy Head of the Municipal Traffic Police Office, are in charge of receiving and processing the collected information in a swift manner, Senior Colonel Ngoc added.

The page now has nearly 2,000 members.
