- Traffic police force nationwide requested to ensure traffic order on holiday
The campaign officially started from 6am on May 15 on highways, focusing on passenger transport vehicles, container vehicles, cars and motorbikes.
The traffic patrol teams will use cameras to record all acts of violating the traffic laws, opposing law enforcement officers, as well as illegal motor races and other criminal acts. These data would serve as bases for the traffic police force to handle the offences.
According to Lieutenant General Vu Do Anh Duc, Director of the Traffic Police Department, after stopping a vehicle, the traffic police will check the vehicle registration and other documents in accordance with the laws, as well as measure drug and alcohol concentration of the driver.
“Drivers must strictly abide by the order and guidance of the police forces”, he said.
During the one-month campaign, local traffic police units have authority to stop any vehicles and check all related documents in accordance with the laws.
