PSNews – Since the 17th COVID-19 patient detected in Truc Bach Street, the Truc Bach ward police have mobilized all forces to guard around the clock the quarantine zone and to respond to unexpected situations.

A section of Truc Bach Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City, where the 17th COVID-19 patient lives, has been put under quarantine.

61 households with 191 people living there are cooperating closely with the local authority and police force, as they are all aware of the danger of the COVID-19.

The Truc Bach ward police has checked 100% of accommodation establishments and houses for rent in locality; at the same time, they seriously implement home-based quarantine measures for those who have contacted infected people or passed the infected areas.

Local police officers and soldiers frequently disinfect their checkpoint.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Quang, Head of the Truc Bach Ward Police Post, on March 6, the unit has mapped out the area surrounding the 17th patient’s house, set up temporary checkpoints.

Leaders of the police post also assign forces to be on duty around the clock to ensure that people do not leave the quarantine area and coordinate closely with the local health force to distribute leaflets about COVID-19 and free disinfectant gel to local people.

A police officer is checking access cards of on-duty people at the entrance gate of the quarantine zone.
Captain Nguyen Manh Dung, Deputy Head of the Truc Bach Ward Police Post, is inspecting the police checkpoints around the quarantine area.

According to Mr Dung, leaders of the ward police regularly visit and encourage on-duty police officers and soldiers at the three checkpoints in the quarantine areas: from house No.79 to No.137 in Truc Bach Street, around house No. 7 in Nguyen Khac Nhu street, and around Hong Ngoc Hospital.

Leaders of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department have equipped the Truc Bach ward police with 20 bunk beds, large umbrellas, and medical equipment to ensure safety for police officers and soldiers guarding at the quarantine areas.

Local police carefully review lists of people relating to  having close contact with the COVID-19 patient.

The people living in the quarantine zone are still optimistic without fears.

On the evening of March 8, the food was transported to the quarantine area. In an effort to better serve people, local police listen to people's feedback about meals and then pass them to cooks to improve the quality of daily meals for the people in the quarantine areas.
