Vietnam, Lao share experience in building “All people protecting National security” movement

PSNews – The Department for "All people protecting national security" Movement (V28) under the Ministry of Public Security on September 11 held a working session with a delegation of the Department of Household Registration and Mass Mobilization of the Laos Ministry of Security led by Major General Khamsai Chanthavong.

The working session, in which the two sides exchanged experience in mass mobilization, was part of the 2017 Cooperation Plan of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and the Lao Ministry of Security.

At the event, Senior Colonel Bui Quang Chi, V28’s Deputy Director briefed the guests on the movement "All people protecting national security" in Vietnam.

According to the Vietnamese police officer, the movement stems from the Vietnamese traditions. During their thousand-year history of national construction and defense, the Vietnamese people have always pursued the policies "Pacifying the people", “Wining people's hearts and souls" and "Promoting national unity” to protect the country.

The Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh have always affirmed the role and strength of the people in the revolutionary cause of protecting national security.

Since its inception, the Party has issued many important policies and launched many emulation movements to mobilize all people to participate in the cause of protecting national security, social order and safety, including the current movement of “All people protecting National security”.

“All people protecting National security” is an organized but voluntary, charismatic and active movement encouraging all Vietnamese people to observe the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's law. The movement also aims to mobilize the people to participate in preventing, detecting, and fighting crimes, contributing to protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.

The police officer highlighted results of the force in advising higher authorities on building up the movement “All people protecting National security” in the country, and its important tasks in the coming time.

For his part, Major General Khamsai Chanthavong briefed the Vietnamese side on the current political security and social order and safety situation in the country.

Accordingly, the Lao side has attained a number of achievements in illegal migration, drug trafficking and smuggling in some hot spots, thereby significantly contributing to protecting its national security.

Major General Khamsai Chanthavong also applauded the effective coordination and assistance from Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and local police forces.

In conclusion, the two units agreed to continue to exchange experience in professional issues; to successfully fulfill the cooperation plan signed annually between the two ministries; to promote political dissemination and education for people of the two countries, especially those living areas along the shared border, so that they well perceive and consciously follow laws of the two countries.
