Vietnam, Russia deepens traditional friendship

PSNews - The Public Security Ministry of Vietnam held talks, on July 25 afternoon, with a high-ranking delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation led by its Secretary Patrusev Nikolay Platonovich.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam said that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia has been developing in depth and width. 

In particular, Vietnam treasures the good relations with Russia and the mutual support for each other at international forums, contributing to protecting national interests and security of each country.  

In the current complex situation, Minister To Lam affirmed that Vietnam empathizes and shares with Russia the difficulties that it is facing due to restrictions of the West against the country. 

The host also wished that Russia would overcome all difficulties, and he also congratulated Russia on its great achievements in national socio-economic development, defense and security under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin.

Over the past time, the two sides promptly exchanged information and helped each other with effective solutions to dealing with transnational crimes, cybercrimes, drug crimes and human trafficking crimes.

To deepen bilateral relations for better outcomes, Minister To Lam suggested the two sides should promote delegation exchanges and cooperate closely with each other in dealing with nontraditional security issues, antiterrorism. 

For his part, Mr. Patrusev Nikolay Platonovich expressed delight at the fine developments in relations between the two sides.

He wished the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia in general and the cooperation between the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam and the law enforcement agencies of Russia in particular will be further deepened and expanded, contributing to stability and peace in the region and world.

After the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in preventing and combating the production, transport, trade, proliferation and abuse of new psychotropic substances.
