Vietnam and Thailand accelerate cooperation in drug combat

PSNews-The 11th Vietnam-Thailand Bilateral Conference on Drug Prevention and Combat was held in Da Nang on April 24.

The conference was attended by Lieutenant General Dong Dai Loc, Deputy Director of the General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and Mr. Sirinya Sitdhichai Secretary General of the Thai Narcotics Control Board, representatives of the Da Nang Municipal Police and Drug Enforcement Agencies of the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Dong Dai Loc and Mr. Sirinya Sitdhichai emphasized the importance of cooperation in drug prevention and fight between Vietnam and Thailand in particular and the ASEAN countries in general.

In the spirit of the bilateral drug combat cooperation agreement signed in 1998 between the Governments of Viet Nam and Thailand, the two sides have cooperated comprehensively in training and exchange of experiences, sharing information, and arresting drug traffickers. In addition to bilateral cooperation, Vietnam and Thailand actively support each other at multilateral cooperation forums.

At the meeting, Thailand provided Vietnam with some drug inspection machines, standard samples and drug test tools.
