Speaking at the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Hai Trung, Deputy Director of the GD3 warmly welcomed Colonel Suvanny Sysonphapmi Xay and the Lao visiting delegation, and hoped that the visit of the Lao delegation will be successful.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Hai Trung, 2017 is defined as the "Vietnam - Laos Friendship Year".
Addressing the ceremony to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962-2017) and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977-2017), Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized that the Vietnam- Lao relationship is a special one as it has been nurtured and developed by generations of leaders of the two Parties and States.
Thanks to the development of the relationship between the two Parties, the two States and peoples, the cooperation between the GD3 under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the General Department of Politics under the Lao Ministry of Security have been increasingly growing.
Colonel Suvanny Sysonphapmi Xay thanked the GD3 under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for the kind reception and hoped that the current working visit of the delegation of the Lao Ministry of Security will contribute to the special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the two Ministries.
At the meeting, the two sides also exchanged experience in personnel management, force organization and staff training.
