In particular, illegal drug trafficking across Vietnam’s borderlines tends to increase with more sophisticated methods and tactics.

The transportation of drugs on air routes from Europe from European countries has been increasing lately, mainly through international airports, especially Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang.

The unit in collaboration with the Counter-Narcotics Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security also organized a conference to evaluate the situation and propose solutions to prevent and fight againsst drug traffick by air.

Within a month from May 16 to June 15, the unit in collaboration with the police forces and border guard forces detected 47 cases of illicit drug trafficking, arrested 36 suspects, and seized a large number of opium, cannabis and heroine.
