Hoi An, a famous tourist town, ended its social distancing measures last week and allowed restaurants, food stalls and tourist attractions to reopen.
The Hoi An Municipal Center of Culture, and Sport announced on September 22 that the ancient town will re-implement a series of cultural and social activities within the ancient town. .
Accordingly, Hoi An will reopen street for pedestrians and non-motor vehicles, night street and traditional craft hubs from September 24. Additionally, plenty of airlines offer discounts on the route to Hoi An in an effort to stimulate tourism demand.
Pham Vu Dung, owner of a travel agency in Hoi An shared that, COVID-19 was also a chance for Hoi An to look at its tourism plan and management, as the Old Quarter remained a main focus on all tour services.
There are different options for tourists in a 5km radius from the Old Town – Tra Que garden, Kim Bong carpentry village, Triem Tay eco-village, Thanh Ha Pottery and An Bang beach. The suburban area could be linked with the Old Town as a destination chain to ease traffic and overcrowding.
