Phan Chau Trinh Institute officially opens

PSNews-The Phan Chau Trinh Institute (PCTI) was officially unveiled on February in Hoi An city, with the attendance of former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Binh.

The Institute’s Council includes 12 members, and is chaired by writer Nguyen Ngoc. Its headquarters is located at 7, Tran Hung Dao str., Hoi An city.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, writer Nguyen Ngoc said, the birth of the Phan Chu Trinh Institute aims to promote the great spiritual heritage of enlightener Phan Chu Trinh for current national development. At the same time, the institute is also striving to become a center for scientific research as well as to serve as a think-tank, focusing on social and cultural issues.

During its staff’s first working session with leaders of Quang Nam province, the institute has been assigned to compile a book named "Comprehensive encyclopedia of Quang Nam", which will be the huge book of 20 volumes about the land, history and people of Quang Nam. The project is expected to be completed in 5 years.

On this occasion, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh, Chair of the Phan Chu Trinh Cultural Fund was also invited to join the Institute as honorary Chair of the Phan Chu Trinh Institute.
