MPS to continue to fight black credit: Minister Lam
PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) will launch more campaigns to suppress criminal activities, particularly criminal gangs and rings involved in black credit, usury and illegal debt collection.

Answering questions at the National Assembly hearing on October 30, Minister of Public Security To Lam said that black credit is a deal of self-negotiated loan at a very high interest rate. The kind of loans, which is fairly popular in rural areas, usually involves criminal gangs although it is a civil deal.
According to statistics, as many as 7,624 cases of black credit were detected across the country between 2015 and 2018. Black credit also triggered 56 murder cases, 389 cases of intentional infliction of bodily injuries and 629 robberies, Minister To Lam added.
The police forces have been stamped out 124 criminal gangs and arrested 831 people involved in usury and illegal debt collection.
The minister also highlighted 3 main causes as well as solutions to this aching issue.
