The meeting also saw the participation of Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh. On behalf of the Bac Ninh Provincial National Delegation, its Deputy head Tran Thi Hang briefed voters on the important outcomes of the National Assembly’s 6th working session.

According to Hang, major outcomes of the National Assembly’s 6th session included electing Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong as the State President, and approving the proposal of the Prime Minister on the key members of the Government, making several decisions on socio-economic issues and the 2019 State budget estimate, adopting 9 draft laws (including the Law on the People’s Public Security), one resolution and giving opinions to 6 other bills.
Hang added that the National Assembly’s 6th session has also conducted Q&A sessions on many important issues, and a vote of confidence on high-ranking officials elected or approved by the NA.
Regarding voters questions during the previous meeting, Hang said all had been passed to involved ministries and branches for answers. She also gave the answers of the involved agencies to questions of the voters.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Lam informed voters on a number of issues relating to the national economic, social, security and order situation, which were reported and discussed during the 6th working session of the National Assembly.
According to Minister To Lam, the public Security Forces have achieved many positive results in preventing and controlling crimes and law violation; particularly, the number of criminal cases reduced by nearly 3%. However, Minister To Lam affirmed that the situation of crime and law violation, especially social order related crime, high-tech crime, black-credit related crime, remains complicated.
Minister To Lam revealed that the Ministry of Public Security submitted four bills to the National Assembly. Three of them were approved, including the Law on the People’s Public Security Forces (amended), Amnesty Law (amended) and National Secret Protection Law, while the Execution of Criminal Judgment Law was seriously discussed and is expected to be passed at the upcoming working session.

Regarding the Law on the People’s Public Security Forces, which has drawn huge attention from the people, Minister To Lam said the law does not change the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Public Security but serves as an immediate and important legal basis to streamline the apparatus of the Public Security Forces for more efficiency and effectiveness.
The law provides a roadmap to regularize the communal police force, with an aim to better maintaining security and order at the grassroots level.
During the meeting, Minister To Lam also explained voters’ concerns about education, healthcare, environment and issues relating to the functions and tasks of the local police force. The Minister of Public Security briefed voters on some key tasks of the forces in 2019.
