Vietnam - Russia share anti-bribery experience
PSNews- On March 28, the Russia’s Commerce Rep-office in Viet Nam organized a seminar to share experiences in preventing bribery of foreign government officials while doing international business.
Recognizing the importance of the struggle against bribery during international trade deals and the need for joint effort, participants in the seminar exchanged specific ideas on issues related to methods and experiences in preventing and fighting corruption and bribery of foreign government officials while carrying out international deals.
According to the Head of the Russia’s Commercial Rep-office in Vietnam, Viacheslav Nikolaevich Kharinov, in order to ensure transparency in the implementation of international affairs, participating parties must strictly comply with the international conventions on anti-bribery of foreign government officials when doing business abroad.
As the 39th member of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) Convention, Russia has introduced the Anti-Corruption Charter to its businesses, issued additional regulations of anti-corruption on the basis of the federal laws, and proposed methodological recommendations for organizations to study and take measures to prevent and curb bribery of foreign government officials while carrying out international business affairs.
Also at the seminar, representatives of Vietnam's General Department of Customs and the Legislation and Legal Reform Department under the Ministry of Public Security delivered speeches on Vietnam's anti-corruption laws and measures applied to anti-corruption in the import sector.
According to the Vietnamese representatives, on the basis of the mutually agreed international treaties and judicial assistance agreements, Vietnam and Russia need to strengthen cooperation to enhance effectiveness in combating manifestations of corruption when carrying out international business affairs.
