CAND Newspaper and donors offer free eye surgery to 100 poor patients

PSNews - A charitable mission of the Public Security Newspaper (CAND Newspaper) in Ho Chi Minh City together with kind-hearted donor, lawyer Nguyen Van Tuan and doctors of STO Phuong Dong Hospital on May 12 offered free eye surgeries to 100 poor patients in Binh Long town, Binh Phuoc province.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Vinh, Deputy Head of the CAND Newspaper's Office in Ho Chi Minh City said that the CAND Newspaper had mobilized donors to fund for the costs, and doctors and clinicians of STO Phuong Dong Hospital to conduct the surgeries, bringing back sight to them and helping them live a better life.

In particular, the CAND Newspaper received 100 million VND from lawyer Nguyen Van Tuan and  the technical supports from STO Phuong Dong Hospital for the 100 eye Phaco surgeries on poor patients in Binh Long town.  

Doctor Tran Ngoc An, Head of the Health Office of Binh Long town said that, through the charity eye surgery program of the CAND Newspaper, many poor patients in the locality had had their eyes operated at a lower cost.

On behalf of the local people, he extended thanks to the charitable mission of the CAND Newspaper and doctors of STO Phuong Dong Hospital for the assistance of the poor in the town.
