PSNews-A working delegation of the CAND Newspaper (Public Security Newspaper) led by Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Senior Colonel Tran Kim Tham, visited and presented gifts to former security officers of the Sai Gon – Cho Lon Security Department (T4 Security), predecessor of the current Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police.

The delegation visited Mrs. Nguyen Thi Di (a.k.a Ha Thi Ton or Chin Ton) in Phu My Hung commune, Cu Chi district. According to her daughter, Ha Thi Em, two years ago, Mrs. Ton suffered serious illness and was hospitalized for a month.

Due to her age, illness and consequences of brutal torture of the enemy during the war, Chin Ton now cannot remember and tell exactly about her contribution to the achievements of the T4 security force.

The Communal Police Chief said, Chin Ton was among the key officers of the commune during the severe years of the war. The policeman added that the Phu My Hung community is proud of their daughter, a former brave and diligent public security officer.

Also in Cu Chi district, the delegation of the CAND Newspaper visited Mr. Tran Hoang Sinh. Receiving the sentiment and presents of the delegation, Sinh was moved. He was a comrade of Chin Ton for many years. In the past 7 years, he has found it hard to move due to serious illness; however, he can still remember his comrades, teammates, all the roads and street corners and bases during his past operation as a secret security officer.

What he has been most proud of himself is that in the extremely difficult conditions of the war, he still worked hard to overcome all difficulties, and was always ready to sacrifice his life to fulfill all given tasks. In any circumstances, he was always loyal to the Party. When he was imprisoned by the enemy, he also mobilized enemy troops to mend their ways and shift to the revolutionary cause.

The delegation of the CAND Newspaper also visited Mr. Lai Van Chac, also called as Hai Be, in Van Cao str., Phu Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, HCMC, a security officer of T4. He is the one who annihilated the Saigon regime’s so-called “minister of psychological warfare” in 1966.
