Department for Information and Communications announces new working plans

PSNews – The Department for Information and Communications of the Ministry of Public Security on January 10 organized a conference in Hanoi to review its task performance in 2018 and roll out its new working plans for 2019.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech.

According to a report delivered by Senior Colonel Ma Duy Quan, Vice Director of the Department, in 2018, the Department for Information and Communications grasped and effectively implemented the directions of the Central Public Security Party Committee and Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS); renovated working methods comprehensively, improved the quality of the programs and publications of all public security press and media, including the Public Security Newspaper, Television, Radio, Cinema and Publishing House; and achieved all set objectives.

All press and media under the Department actively and swiftly popularized the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, the directions of the MPS on ensuring security and order, and promoting the building of movements, contributing to raising the position of the Public Security Forces, connecting between the Public Security Forces and other branches, agencies, organizations and people in protecting political security, ensuring security and order.

For its noticeable achievements in 2018 the Department was presented with the Excellent Emulation Flag by the MPS while various units and officers of the Department also received awards from the MPS.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of MPS, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh praised the achievements of the Department in recent times.

He also highlighted adverse impacts of the 4.0 industrial revolution on various sectors, including the press and media, as well as, major traditional and non-traditional security challenges for the Public Security Forces in general and the public security press and media in particular. He asked the Department to be more proactive in their information service, communications and publication.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized that the Department should continue to effectively implement the 2019 working plans, innovate and improve the effectiveness of information and communications; produce more reports criticizing the peaceful evolution strategy and wrong views of hostile forces, promote the information service to raise both people and public security officers’ alert against all kinds of crimes, particularly drug-related crime, “black credit”, human trafficking, illegal migration, and focus on information about border and island security.

On behalf of the Department’s leadership, Major General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Department for Information and Communications, thanked the Deputy Minister for his directions. He also highlighted major tasks of the Department in 2019.

At the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh, on behalf of the leaders of the MPS, presented an Emulation Flag of the MPS to outstanding units under the Department for their achievements in the movement “For National Security” 2018.

On this occasion, the Department also presented certificates of merit to typical individuals and collectives for their outstanding task performances in 2018.
