In recent years, thanks to the attention and sound direction of the leaders of the MPS, the fire prevention and fighting and rescue service has gained various achievements, contributing to curbing fire incidents and losses.
Particularly, fire incidents in the first 9 months of 2018 saw a sharp decline in comparison with the same period of 2017 in all 3 categories: the number of incidents down by 9%, number of deaths down by 3, and losses caused by fire down by 199 billion VND or 11.1%.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son applauded the achievements and merits by the fire prevention and fighting police force has obtained in the past time, emphasizing that the great and important contribution of the force over the years has made contributions to the common success of the whole Public Security Forces.
He also asked the Department to strive to build a more elite, professional and modern fire police force with good legal knowledge and expertise, meeting the requirements of fire prevention and fighting and rescue in the new situation.
Additionally, he also urged the fire police force to apply more professional preventive measures; promote checks and training on fire prevention and fighting regulations as well as knowledge of fire prevention and fighting at hospitals, schools, malls and industrial zones while improving the effectiveness and quality of information and communications about fire prevention and fighting and multiplying good models and examples in the field.
