Police forces asked to proactively respond to tropical depression

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) Officer on August 10 issued dispatch 01 to the Board of Climate Change Respond, Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of the Provincial/Municipal Police of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Binh Dinh requiring all public security forces to proactively prepare efforts and assets, and respond to the tropical depression on the East Sea.

At August 10, a tropical convergence strip was positioned at 19 degrees north, 111 degrees east, about 270km-370km southeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago,  according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

To actively respond to the tropical low pressure and minimize all possible damages and losses of properties and people, the Steering Committee for Climate Change Respond, Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security asked the steering committees for climate change response, disaster prevention and recue of the under-ministerial agencies and units as well as police force of provinces and cities mentioned above to seriously implement dispatch 34/CĐ-TW issued on August 10, 2018 by the Permanent Office of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, and the Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue; and directions of local authorities in response to dangerous weather.

Closely monitor developments of the tropical low pressure from the mass media and actively coordinate with relevant units to promptly implement response plans upon request.
