Public Security units hold gratitude activities in localities

PSNews - On the occasion of the 70th Vietnam War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day, July 27, public security forces in localities organized various gratitude activities in different forms for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, beneficiary families and revolution contributors.  

*A working mission of the People’s Public Security Academy (PPSA) led by its Director, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Ngoc, on July 22 visited and organized a cultural exchange program at the Duy Tien Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers (Duy Tien District, Ha Nam province).

The working mission inquired after the wounded soldiers and presented 60 packs of gifts with a total value of 50 million VND to wounded soldiers.

The missions expressed their gratitude to wounded soldiers for their contributions and sacrifices for national independence and freedom. According to leaders of the school, such meaningful activities would educate national traditions and values for officers and students of PPSA, while promoting the Vietnamese people’s philosophy of life: When drinking water, remember its source.

*Same day, a delegation of the Internal Political Security Department under the General Department of Security led by its General Director Major General Le Van offered incense and flowers, and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs (Bac Son street, Hanoi) and paid tribute at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh.

*In response to the 70th Vietnam War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day, the Ha Tinh Police organized several gratitude activities for those contributing to the revolution in the past and current national security protection. The provincial police handed over 2 gratitude houses to Nguyen Van Lan, son of fallen public security officer Nguyen Van Quyet (residing atVinh Cat ward, Thanh Vinh commune, Thach Ha district) and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Dang Thi Phuong (residing at Xuan Yen commune, Nghi Xuan district), mother of fallen public security officer Le Van Tam. The construction of the gratitude houses were extracted from the Comradeship Fund of the Public Security Forces.

From the beginning of 2017, the Ha Tinh Provincial Police has repaired and built 14 gratitude houses for relatives of martyrs, wounded soldiers and revolution contributors in the province with a total cost of 500 million VND. Provincial police also donated more than 800 million VND to the Comradeship Fund, supported more than 300 million VND to help localities to resolve the environmental incidents. The local police also render support and take care of 16 local Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and provide monthly allowances for children of serious wounded soldiers, martyrs and officers who are suffering from serious illnesses.

*Meanwhile, the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police used 70 million VND from its Comradeship Fund to build a gratitude house for Vo Thi Cac (residing at Vinh Thai commune, PhuVang district), who is wife of fallen public security officer, Hero of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces, Le Van Tri and repaired 6 gratitude houses for families of public security martyrs, residing at Phong Dien, Phu Van, A Luoi, Quang Dien district and Huong Thuy town with a total cost of 255 million VND. Up to now, the ThuaThien-Hue Provincial Police has spent nearly 4.5 billion VND in building and repairing gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families in locality.

*On July 22nd and 23rd, the infirmary of the Dong Thap Provincial Police has offered free health checkups and medicines to 160 policy beneficiary families at a cost of  100 million VND.

*On July 22nd, the Youth Union chapter of the Phu Ly Municipal Police (Ha Nam) in collaboration with the Youth Union chapter of Ha Nam Hospital offered a free heath checkups and medicines to 150 needy people and elderly policy beneficiaries in the locality. They also presented 15 packs of gifts, each worth 300,000 VND and donated 5 million VND in total to local policy beneficiaries and revolution contributors.
