Vietnam, Korea look to beef up cooperation on crime prevention

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong emphasized, in 2016, via Interpol, the two sides seized and handed over to each other dozens of wanted international fugitives, and jointly investigated many special cases, facilitating the prosecution service of Vietnam and Korea.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security received a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Department under the Korean National Police Agency led by Mr. Lee Joo Min, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department on July 27 afternoon.

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong held that the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Korea has been strongly developed over the past time in terms of politics, economy, culture, society and law enforcement.

The signing ceremony on a project to increase criminal science capacity of the Vietnamese Public Security Ministry. 

In this circumstance, the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam and the Korean National Police Agency has actively expanded their bilateral cooperation in many  areas, particularly high-ranking delegation exchanges, and prevention of cybercrimes and transnational crimes.

In the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong wished that the Korean National Police Agency will continuously support the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam in improving capacity of the Vietnamese police in criminal science and crime prevention, contributing to accelerating relations between the two sides.

For his part, Mr. Lee Joo Min, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department affirmed, he will try his best to contribute to bringing the strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries to a new high level.

After the reception, representatives of the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam and the Korean Foreign Affairs Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a project to increase criminal science capacity of the Vietnamese Public Security Ministry.
