Vietnam and RoK promote cooperation in crime prevention and fight

The first Vietnam – Republic of Korea Vice-Ministerial Meeting on Police Cooperation took place in Hanoi on May 24. Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Mr. Min Gab Ryong, Deputy Commander of the Korea National Police Agency co-chaired the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong said that the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam was pleased bilateral relations and cooperation between the Vietnamese ministry and the National Police Agency of RoK have developed strongly and achieved many good results, demonstrating a high level of mutual political trust.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong believed that the first VN-RoK Vice-Ministerial Meeting on Police Cooperation would create a new impetus for cooperation between the two agencies in various fields, especially in police cooperation, contributing to ensuring security and order of each country.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong suggested both sides continue to strengthen the cooperation on crime prevention and fight as well as criminal justice cooperation in the coming time while expanding cooperation in other areas, particularly in the field of high technology security, in accordance with the two sides’ potentials and needs.

For his part, Mr. Min Gab Ryong highly appreciated the results of the bilateral cooperation over the past time, and believed that the meeting would be of great success, contributing to lifting relations between the two countries in general, and between the MPS of Vietnam and the National Police Agency of RoK in particular to a new height.
