More medical equipment destined for HCMC to treat COVID-19 patients

The SE7 train is departing from Hanoi on August 6, carrying hundreds of medical equipment from Bach Mai Hospital to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to support the fight against COVID-19.

According to the Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR), all medical equipment (weighing about 10 tons) will be transferred by VNR to HCMC to support the 3,000-bed field hospital No.16 in Phu Nhuan ward, District 7, HCMC. 

During this COVID-19 outbreak, this is the third shipment delivered by the VNR to the South to help treat severe COVID-19 patients in an intensive care unit at the 3,000-bed field hospital.

Bach Mai Hospital also sends thousands of additional doctors and medical staff to HCMC to operate the equipment as well as treat patients infected with COVID-19.

Director of the Bach Mai Hospital Nguyen Quang Tuan will work as director of the intensive care center based in the field hospital No.16 which provides 500 beds for seriously ill COVID-19 patients.
