PM commends frontline forces in COVID-19 fight
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has sent a letter highly commending frontline forces for their contributions, sacrifices and efforts in the ongoing fight against SARS-CoV-2.
In his letter, Chinh noted that the past 500 days against COVID-19 has been a big test of Vietnam’s spirit of ‘Calamity is man’s true touchstone’, mutual assistance and patriotism of the whole nation.
Under the leadership of the Party and concerted efforts by the Government, sectors and people, the COVID-19 fight has brought about initial encouraging results, although there are still many difficulties and challenges ahead.
According to the PM, people understand, appreciate and show their gratitude to sacrifices made by frontline forces, especially healthcare workers, who have worked tirelessly to fulfil their duties.
“We will never forget how hard those in protective clothing during the hot summer weather are devoted to their work these days. Many work without having a sleep or a meal, some even do not have an opportunity to meet their relatives before their passing away….” Chinh wrote.
He stressed the Party and State respect and highly value contributions, sacrifices and efforts made by frontline forces, especially healthcare workers, in a fight which he said might last longer and develop in an unpredictable manner.
“The Party, State and people are always with you, and hope you will continue to work with a will to serve the compatriots…..and to live up to the Party, State and people’ expectations. ….. I believe with greater efforts, stronger resolve, and more drastic measures in place we will certainly win this fight.” the PM concluded.
