Vietnam e-commerce growth rate reaches 30%

That information was revealed at the Vietnam Online Market Forum (VOMF) 2019 held on August 14 in Hanoi.
In particular, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City accounted for 70% of e-commerce transactions nationwide.
Meanwhile, the rural area also has great consumption potential and it also provide variety of produces suitable for online sales.
However, in order to promote online sale in rural areas, according to VECOM, there is a need of narrowing the digital gap between localities, while encouraging online sales in rural areas.
VECOM also revealed that the e-commerce growth rate of Vietnam is 30% year-on-year. Vietnam’s e-commerce market size currently ranks second in Southeast Asia with 40 million online shoppers.
According to VECOM, Vietnamese customers spend averagely 210 USD per year on online shopping.
Consumers nowadays can quickly grasp the utility of e-commerce and easily find the production information. Therefore, the consumers would also become more demanding.
