Vietnamese goods dominate Christmas market
Up to 80% of the Christmas items on sale were made in Vietnam. Woolen stockings and hats range from 10,000 to 40,000 dong. Decorative reindeers, bells and ornaments cost 200,000 to 500,000 dong.
Nguyen Thu Nga owns a shop in Hang Ma. She said, “We have being selling Christmas items for the past month. Most customers like Vietnamese products because they are safe. The prices and designs are similar to last year but purchasing power is increasing.”
This year, many people bought plastic Christmas trees to decorate their homes. A large number of trees of different sizes and colors and accompanying decorations have been sold.
The Santa Claus gift delivery service has become popular in recent years. Depending on distance and other factors, it costs 150,000 to 250,000 dong for each delivery.
Many shops offer Christmas decoration services at your office, shop or house. Room size, decoration quality and special requests determine the price, but it is usually fluctuates between 100,000 and 200,000 dong per square meter.
Nguyen Van Hung provides decoration services. He said, "We sell deco items and provide decoration and Santa Claus services. Demand is increasing these days. We have to stock trending goods to satisfy our customers. The number of customers is growing as Christmas Day draws nearer.”
By offering more different products of higher quality, Vietnamese producers are dominating the Christmas gift and decoration market this year.
