PSNews - Recently, more than three tonnes of Bac Giang's specialty have been shipped to Germany through "Voso", the "cross-border e-commerce” model on an e-commerce platform developed and operated by Viettel Post.

The Vietnam E-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said this is the first time Vietnam’s agricultural products have been shipped to Europe through the “cross-border e-commerce” model on an e-commerce platform developed and operated by the Southeast Asian nation.

Sponsored by Viettel Post, Voso launched its Voso Global last March, offering high-quality Vietnamese farm produce to consumers in foreign markets, especially overseas Vietnamese.

The platform has optimised Viettel Post’s smart logistics system to deliver the fruit that satisfies GlobalGap standards to customers. More farming products are expected to be put on the platform in the time ahead, thus serving consumers both at home and abroad. Besides, the fruits are labeled with traceability stamps.

Tran Trung Hung, General Director of Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation, said Voso is expected to become the leading e-commerce trading floor which introduces additional agricultural products via cross-border e-commerce platforms that can fully meet the demands of both foreign consumers and Vietnamese expatriates.

The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy has supported Voso to create Vietnamese and English versions of its website. The “cross-border e-commerce” model is expected to open up more opportunities for Vietnamese agricultural products to be exported to Europe, particularly when the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has come into effect.

Dang Hoang Hai, director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, stated that the successful export of Bac Giang lychees through Voso Global's cross-border e-commerce method is considered to be a remarkable step towards bringing high-quality fresh agricultural products to the EU market.
