Petrol prices down by VND830 per litre
The retail price of petrol fell by more than VND830 per litre as of 3 p.m. on April 12 following the latest adjustments made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.
The latest changes saw the retail price of E5 RON92 drop by VND830 to a maximum of VND26,470 per litre, while that of RON 95 bio-fuel dived by VND840 to VND27,310 per litre.
Elsewhere, diesel 0.05S went down by VND700 to VND24,380 per litre, while kerosene also decreased by VND737 to VND23,027 per litre.
This marks the third consecutive decline following seven consecutive price hikes this year.
The two ministries have also decided to use the petrol price stabilisation fund at a rate of VND550 per litre for E5 RON 92, VND650 per litre for RON 95, VND500 per litre for diesel, and VND350 per litre for kerosene.
Domestic petrol prices were reduced due to lowering prices on the global market. April 11 alone saw the price of Brent crude oil fall sharply to US$97.5 per barrel, the lowest recorded over the past month.
