In addition to screening various films from many countries in the world, this year’s festival will also offer various extra activities, particularly experiments and tests useful for Vietnamese teachers and students.
The Scientific Film Festival is an international program, organized by the Goethe Institute, the German Cultural Center in Vietnam, since 2005. The festival has been held in 24 countries across Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
It was first held in Vietnam in 2010.
The twelve films screened at the festival in Vietnam this year have been selected from 278 films by international film makers, studios and television programs. The films and sideline activities will mainly feature the importance of food consumption and the impact of food consumption on the environment.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will also offer interaction programs to students. High school teachers can apply contents of the programs as experiments to their teaching processes to inspire their students. The film festival will be supported by 125 well-trained volunteers.
The festival is expected to attract some 10,000 people.
