13 provinces to participate in Mekong Delta Music Festival 2019
The festival aims at praising talents in the music industry, and encouraging creativity in the fields of music composition, performance and training.
This is also an opportunity for musicians and artists to meet and exchange experiences and new music pieces, contributing to promoting music composition and performance, meeting an increasing demand of the public. The event also helps participating provinces promote their cultural identities.
The 32rd Mekong Delta Music Festival 2019 will draw the participation of representatives of the Literature and Arts Association, the Music Association as well as musicians and artists from the 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta region including Bac Lieu, An Giang, Ben Tre, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Dong Thap and Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Long An, Soc Trang, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be a seminar themed “Applying traditional music materials of the Mekong Delta to new music pieces.” It will be an open forum for musicians to discuss strengths and weaknesses in promoting the traditional music of the Mekong Delta region and recommend approaches to bring the regional traditional music to a new height.
The closing and awards ceremony of the festival will take place at 7.30 pm on June 29 and broadcast on Ca Mau Television.
