“A Dream of Red Mansions” to be on Vietnamese stage

According to the announcement of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre on September 25, the Chinese masterpiece “A Dream of Red Mansions” by Cao Xueqin will be staged in Vietnam soon.
“A Dream of Red Mansions,” one of the four great classical novels of China, tells a love story of two relatives Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu.

The novel also provides great insight in the multifaceted life of a noble family from well-being to decay, in the Qing dynasty.
Many generations of Vietnamese have been familiar with "A Dream of Red Mansions" as they have read the novel or/and watched TV series scripted from the novel. In the coming time, people who love this masterpiece will have opportunity to enjoy it again on stage.
Doctor Chua Soo Pong from Singapore will be the director of the “A Dream of Red Mansions” play in Vietnamese. Actor To Tuan Dung and Vu Ba Duy will act as Jia Baoyu while actress Nguyen Thi Diem Huong will act as Lin Daiyu.
Additionally, a large number of popular actors and actresses of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, such as Bui Phuong Nga, Nguyen Thu Huong, Nguyen Le Ngoc, Hoang Thuy Huong, Nguyen Thi Huong, and Trinh Khanh Linh, will participate in the play.
