Artwork by late Vietnamese artist Le Pho sold for 600 million VND

PSNews - The painting “Beautiful of Flower (Sac hoa)” by 20th-century Vietnamese painter Le Pho has been sold at 600 million VND (27,000 USD) at a recent auction in Hanoi.

The painting “Beautiful of Flower (Sac hoa)” by 20th-century Vietnamese painter Le Pho has been sold at 600 million VND (27,000 USD) at a recent auction in Hanoi. |
Le Pho (1907-2001) was one of the first painters of the Indochina Fine Arts School. He was once named by the principal and mentor Victor Tardieu as a group of 10 elite students of the school.
In 1931, Le Pho moved to France and received a scholarship to attend the Paris School of Fine Arts, where he had the opportunity to enrich his knowledge of art genres. Of all art genres, impressionism strongly influenced his artworks.
Also at the auction held by auction house Chon’s, two lacquer works by painter Nguyen Huyen were also successfully auctioned for 12,000 USD (about VND 280 million).
Another lacquer work by painter Tran Van Ha created in the 1940s was sold for 11,000 USD (about VND 260 million). The total value of the bidding was 94,900 VND (over VND 2.1 billion).
