Cuisine Culture Festival of Hanoi to open at Thong Nhat Park

PSNews  - The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee will host the Culinary Festival of Hanoi from October 5-7 at Thong Nhat Park with the aim of honor specialties of Hanoi and promote its tourism in particular and Vietnam’s tourism in general.

As part of activities to celebrate the 64th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day and 1,008 years of Thang Long-Hanoi, the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee decided to open Cuisine Culture Festival, introducing specialties of traditional villages in Hanoi as well as valuable documents and photos of Hanoi in the past and at the present.

Domestic and foreign visitors will have chance to  experience dishes that have been featured on international media such as pho (noodle soup),  banh chung (square glutinous cake), nem cuon (spring rolls), bánh mì (Vietnamese baguette) and  bun cha (noodle served with grilled pork).

Various street foods from traditional villages of Hanoi will be introduced such as o mai (preserved fruits), com (young sticky rice), robusta coffee, cha ca (grilled fishcake) and banh cuon (steamed rolled pancakes).

Talking about this event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee shared that the cuisine culture festival was considered a bridge of cultural exchange which helps connect people from different cultures.

The two-day event will also host an exhibition area to display valuable documents of Hanoi in the past and at the present and the elegant style of Hanoians in enjoying cuisine through lens of famous photographers. Additionally, visitors will be able to exchange ideas and opinions with artisans, researchers, as well as join a number of traditional arts and folk games.

The festival will take place from October 5-7, at the Thong Nhat Park, Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hanoi.
