Da Nang bursting with excitement in street festival
PSNews-The DIFF (Da Nang International Firework Festival) 2017 Street Festival - Da Nang officially opened from May 5 and will continue to take place every Friday night and on Saturday nights without firework performances along Da Nang streets during this summer to contribute to the festive atmosphere of the city.
The street festival is considered the second largest event during DIFF 2017.
During the opening night, streets along the Han River saw colorful art performances by nearly 150 international and Vietnamese artists from famous arts and cultural centers, which lighted up and cheered up Da Nang’s streets. 9 carriages decorated with various motley flowers, which had elaborately been designed for nearly 3 months, became highlights in the street festival.
Carriages with colorful decorations |
Each carriage featured a miniature of a DIFF 2017 participating country. The UK's flowery car was a unique combination of four distinctive symbols of the country: the Elizabeth Tower, the London Tower Bridge, the two-storey bus and the Thames River while the Japan's carried the country’s two most famous symbols: cherry blossom and Torii.
Thousands of people participated |
The street show created a vivid festive atmosphere and received applauses and cheers from visitors and local people. There was little difference between ordinary people and artists as they all joined public dances in the street.
This is the first time Vietnam has held a festival that lasts throughout summer.
